The castle also known as “Castle of Angels” or “Angeles’s castle” , formed a defensive triangle with the castles of Gardiki and Kassiopi. The primary  reason why the fort was built was to shield the inhabitants from pirate attacks.  The Castle    served its function in 1403 when the inhabitants of the island repelled the pirates attack and also in 1571 when the Turkish attack on the north western flank of Corfu was successfully repulsed by the defenders of the castle.

One o the most interesting and beautiful part of Angielocastro is an ancient church dedicated to the angels Gabriel and Michael which is build in a cave, and the ruins of a tower.

This day the castle is open for visitors from 10 am to 3 pm (except for Mondays) , If you want to reach the castle, the road is not easy ,you have to pass through the centre of the village of Krini. The road is narrow and some turns are dangerous.

When you arrive, you will see a small parking when is located many picturesque cafes, on the way up you have to climb many stairs to get to the target, but really worth.
